Changi Aloha Chalet G

IN-CONSTANT

'The only true fairness in the world is grey hair. It does not overlook the heads of the rich.' by DUMU, Tang Dynasty.

Today, everyone is busy with their life. We have been trying hard to persuade the things we want to ensure we have a better life. For ourselves and our next generation. The busy lifestyle seems to become the daily routine for us. As we living in a city jungle, the pace of life is getting faster and faster and will never slow down. When the competitive becoming stronger, we work harder. But are all these worth it? We have been trying too hard to persuade things but nothing lasts forever. No matter you are rich or poor, powerful or powerless, time ages everyone. You won't know what is going to happen tomorrow.

In this space, I hope the people can slow down their pace and observe what is surround us as those impermanence moment won't always happen. We have to learn to appreciate the moment. The chalet has achieved both time and nature element as the family will move according to different time zone and nature in the day unconsciously to experience different moment.

Half of the 1st floor is an open space to allow anyone to walk in and stop by. People can have a rest or vandalize on the wall to express their feeling. It can also be a shelter for people when it's raining. It plays the role as a pavilion in the whole Changi Aloha area. The moment of people come, stop and go and different time of natural environment are being captured in this space to express the concept of impermanence.
